DAY IN THE LIFE OF ESC VOLUNTEER by Ouassim

📍Location: Ruse, Bulgaria

🌤️ Weather: Sunny and with mild temperatures

Morning:

– 6:30 AM: Woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead.

– 7:00 AM: Enjoyed a hearty breakfast while planning my schedule for the day. Made a list of IT tasks to accomplish. 

– 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Engaged in various IT work, including programming, troubleshooting, and updating systems. Made significant progress on a project I’ve been working on.

Mid-morning Break:

– 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Took a well-deserved break and headed to the park near my accommodation for a workout session. Enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine, which rejuvenated my mind and body.

Afternoon:

– 1:00 PM: Returned to my accommodation, feeling energized after the workout. Took a quick shower to freshen up.

– 1:30 PM: Had a satisfying lunch, refueling my body for the rest of the day.

– 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Resumed IT work, focusing on troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions. Made some progress on debugging a particularly tricky problem.

Evening:

– 5:30 PM: Finished work for the day and decided to take a leisurely walk to the city center. Enjoyed the picturesque streets of Ruse, taking in the sights and sounds of the bustling city.

– 7:00 PM: Had dinner at a local restaurant, sampling some delicious Bulgarian cuisine.

– 8:00 PM: Returned to my accommodation and spent some time doing online work, catching up on emails and correspondence.

– 9:00 PM: Enjoyed a light snack before winding down for the night.

– 10:00 PM: Prepared for bed, feeling accomplished and grateful for another productive day.

Reflections:

Today was a fulfilling day filled with meaningful work and exploration. Balancing my IT responsibilities with regular breaks for exercise and relaxation helped me stay focused and energized throughout the day. The opportunity to explore the city center in the evening provided a refreshing change of scenery and allowed me to immerse myself in the local culture. As I reflect on the day’s activities, I feel grateful for the experiences and opportunities that volunteering in Ruse has provided me.
