Discussions on Active Citizenship: Workshop by our ESC Volunteers

In exchange of ideas and perspectives, our dedicated European Solidarity Corps volunteers, part of the project ‘Volunteering Teams for Good’, recently conducted an engaging workshop on active citizenship, voting, and political opinions in Ruse. The purpose? To inspire and inform the local youth about the importance of civic participation and encourage open discussions on pressing societal issues.

Key Themes Explored:

  1. Active Citizenship: The workshop delved into the essence of active citizenship, emphasizing the role individuals play in contributing to the well-being of their communities. Our ESC volunteers shared personal experiences, highlighting the impact that active engagement can have on shaping a more inclusive and vibrant society.
  2. Voting as a Civic Duty: With a focus on the upcoming elections, the volunteers stressed the significance of voting as a fundamental civic duty. They shed light on the democratic process, encouraging young people to exercise their right to vote and become active participants in shaping the future of their city and country.
  3. Open Dialogue on Political Opinions: Recognizing the diversity of opinions within the community, the workshop provided a safe space for participants to express their political views. Thought-provoking discussions ensued, fostering an environment where individuals felt comfortable sharing their perspectives and learning from one another.
