We are happy to share that a significant Erasmus+ project took place in Italy from April 17th to 26th, 2022, aiming to enhance the capacity and competencies of youth workers dealing with conflict situations within their communities. Association of Ruse, as a partner organisation, sent three young ambitious individuals to take part in ‘Smart steps to conflict resolution’.
This project aims to train youth workers to be more competent to face issues of conflict and anger management that happen in the NGOs and communities. Sometimes these issues are connected to acts of racism and stereotypes due to multicultural settings. Thus, they refer to their personal and professional lack of skills and innovative methods to approach youngsters in order to promote intercultural dialogue and cooperation.
Youth workers recognize that some of their youngsters are non-very cooperative with them and express the need to be trained on how to use more attractive and effective methods. Many youth workers also have fewer opportunities (economical, cultural, social, health) who lack of often opportunities for developing their approach on who to motivate youngsters to be active citizens for their community welfare, and combat together any type of conflicts, xenophobia and discrimination.
